Spring into Spring with These Netting NecessitiesMarch 17, 2017 - Tracy
Although the current temperatures may not feel like it, spring is just around the corner! It’s not too early to start planning your warmer-weather activities—and many of these endeavors will involve netting. Whether you want to protect your plants from birds and sun, or protect your family from mosquitoes; or whether you want to be active playing outdoor sports or hauling cargo, we have you covered!
Crop Protection and Bird Prevention
Whether you have a few blueberry bushes or a whole vineyard of wine grapes, you want to keep the birds from stealing the fruits of your labors. We have light-duty and heavy-duty crop protection netting that can be gently draped and secured over individual bushes or trees, or used with frameworks or suspension cables to create larger screened areas.
Spring is also the time for birds to be nesting, and you don’t want them building those nests in your gutters, chimneys, vents, and rafter spaces, because they can cause fires and other health hazards. To keep them out of these areas, we have bird netting and our specially designed, humane, stainless steel bird spikes from our sister site, BirdGuard.com.

Your gardens may need protection not only from birds, but from the heat and UV rays of the sun. Our durable, lightweight, knitted lockstitch shade cloth comes in a variety of colors and custom sizes. It will keep your crops or flowers from getting fried, while still allowing air and water to reach them. This video details one man’s decision to use shade cloth to shield the cucumbers in his desert garden. And shade cloth can have other applications, such as windscreens or protection for tennis courts.
Speaking of tennis courts, outdoor sports are another spring activity that involves netting. For baseball and softball, we have barriers and backstop nets as well as amateur ad pro batting cages in several sizes. For golfers, there are cut-to-order golf nets, driving range netting, and U.S.-made golf practice cages. Our range of netting covers a variety of other sports, from lacrosse backdrops to gym curtains . Our netting can also protect spectators at events ranging from baseball games to drone races.
Mosquitoes and other biting pests can ruin everything from a picnic to your ability to sleep with the windows open. Fight back with mosquito netting that is tight enough to keep out even those tiny “no-see-ums,” yet is still highly transparent. Our top-quality netting is sold by the foot or by the roll for DIY projects, or you can purchase coverings in several sizes to drape over picnic tables or bedding. We can also custom fabricate panels to screen in backyard gazebos or porches.
Perhaps your spring cleaning might involve hauling furniture or other items to a thrift store or flea market. Or perhaps your landscaping projects include moving loads of dirt, gravel, or shredded bark. Whatever your spring cargo might be, we have the netting to secure it for safe transport. We offer truck cargo nets that fasten with loops or grommets, in a variety of sizes. Our Ultimate Truck Cargo Net Tie-Down Kit is a great gift idea. These nets can also include a debris liner to keep finer loads such as mulch from flying loose. We also offer super-tough tailgate nets for pickup trucks. And if you need to secure a picnic cooler or fishing gear to the back of your ATV or carrier/trailer, we can help you out there too!
